How it works

Three easy steps to your first experiment.

1

You buy the kit

Pick it up online for $45 and your order is confirmed the same day.

2

We pack and ship it

Everything is boxed with care and sent straight to your door.

3

Open it and start

Unbox your kit at home and start doing real science experiments.

What you get

Real lab tools and every powder you need.

Every kit ships with the instruments scientists use to look closely, handle materials safely, and measure what they find — plus the powders and dyes for all four guided experiments.

Basic lab & observation tools

Reusable instruments for handling materials, examining objects closely, and running basic lab procedures.

  • Magnifying glass / pocket microscopeInspect cell structures, bugs, leaves, fabrics, or rock textures.
  • Plastic beakers & flasksShatter-proof containers for mixing, holding, and pouring liquids safely.
  • Test tubes & racksSmall-scale chemical reactions and watching color changes.
  • Pipettes or droppersTransfer precise, small amounts of liquid or indicator.
  • FunnelsPour liquids or powders into narrow openings without spilling.

Measuring equipment

Accurate data collection is the backbone of the scientific method, so every kit ships with these.

  • Graduated cylindersMeasure liquid volumes precisely.
  • ThermometerRecord temperature changes during thermal or chemical reactions.
  • ScaleA compact digital or spring scale for measuring mass and weight.
  • Ruler or measuring tapeMeasure distance, height, or physical growth over time.
  • Timer / stopwatchTrack reaction speeds, velocity, or rates of change.

Experiment powders & dyes

Every powder, salt, and dye the four guided experiments call for — measured, sealed, and already in the box.

  • Red cabbage indicator powderBrews the purple master solution that reveals acids and bases.
  • Citric acidThe acid behind pink color changes and foamy volcano eruptions.
  • Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)The base that turns the indicator blue-green and fizzes with acid.
  • Sodium alginateA thick plant-based goo that becomes flexible slime worms.
  • Calcium chlorideThe bath that instantly sets alginate into a squishy gel.
  • Alum powderGrows geometric crystals overnight in a supersaturated solution.
  • Food coloringBrightens foam, gels, and crystals so changes are easy to see.
Explore the science

Four experiments. A question at every step.

Make a prediction, choose an answer, and uncover the next part of each experiment as you go.

Materials for the experiments

Everything the activities call for is in the box — lab tools, measuring equipment, powders and dyes — see what you get. Only water and a few household items come from your kitchen.

In the box

  • Red cabbage indicator powder
  • Citric acid
  • Baking soda
  • Sodium alginate
  • Calcium chloride
  • Alum powder
  • Food coloring
  • Beakers, flasks & test tubes
  • Pipette

From your kitchen

  • Water
  • Liquid dish soap
  • Heat-safe glass jar
  • Stirring stick
  • Goggles
  • Tweezers (optional)

Adult help is required for hot water and handling powders. Never taste experiment materials. Copper sulfate is not used in the crystal activity.
